Happy Autumn_ updates _features.Dear friends /watchersI hope you are all well. Firstly I would like to thank Karen :iconkarenfiore: for extending my subscription , I also want to apologise for my unplanned long absence, I started a new job in September and it's been very busy ever since and there's just not enough hours in the day to do more things I had to delete all the 10k deviations in my inbox but I will be catching up very slowy as you upload your latest. From my last journal I mentioned that I had run out of ideas for my photos but with autumn here, I managed to create at least 10 autumn deviations coming up. Thanks to all my watchers for the support <a wytiwyg="1" href="http://lesessences.deviantart.com/art/Worldwide-Photoday-Poznan-333030822?q=favby%3Alostknightkg%2F1929700&qo=120">

Five In FiveReflecting upon my art school days recently, a thought popped into my head...a rarity. I was thinking back to how we were instructed in Life Drawing 101 to do gesture drawings within a short period of time. Basically, it is a method of training hands to quickly sketch what the brain has already seen. Staying "focused" means sustained concentration. Once you start drawing you can't stop because there's only a minute or two to finish! With that practice in mind I figured it would be a good exercise for photography as well. Too often I hear people say they have "writer's block" when it comes to finding something to photograph. So five photographs in five minutes seemed to me to be a good motivational exercise for one to do when down in the creativity dumps. Because of the short time frame it sharpens the mind's eye to produce, on deadline, something…anything. All in an effort to get the creative adrenaline pumping again. Its not about creating the next Mona Lisa…its about producing

A Gifted Talent XXVI...DaraghDear friends of the arts please allow me to introduce to you Daragh. Many of you know him and his expressive works...the rest of you should.Originally the Realism movement's ideology that photography must be about documentary was challenged with Surrealism's movement towards the abstract. In their ideology a photo could express the concept of an image as an essential being. Daragh has embraced this notion in his work. His object is the image itself and its creative process.Through digital darkroom magic I must say he has excelled in this medium and has taken the genre of abstract/surreal photography to new levels of excellence.Without further ado, from Spain, but originally from Belfast, Ireland, may I present to you...:iconParallelDeviant: Blue - Light Conversation by *ParallelDeviant World of different dimensions by *ParallelDeviantI'm In Here by *ParallelDeviant:t
A Gifted Talent XXX...MJDear friends of the arts please allow me to introduce to you MJ and her delightfully "small world" of photographic art.MJ calls somewhere near Chicago, USA, home and it is there that she finds a new face and look at the Windy City. It is a feather in her cap that in spite of those winds she can capture the most delicate nuances of nature in an expressively poetic fashion. As an artist MJ works through the lens of a camera mainly but lately has begun posting drawings which certainly hint that this artist's well of creativity runs deep. Many of you know of MJ's fine macro work...and many more should in my honest opinion. You'll come away after a "walk" through her gallery with these words of Mother Teresa in mind (as found on MJ's home page in light of her artistic statement)...""Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier...."They say its a small small world but thankfully there is an MJ in it to bring it into focus for us all. She succinctly shows us through her ca
